This is a blog that is dedicated to educating people on the detection and awareness of internet fraud. On this blog you will get to identify the methods and the language these criminals use in extorting money from unsuspecting individuals.
What is Internet Fraud?
This is the means or way whereby certain individuals or one person will devise a plan or plans backed with documents to convince a victim via email, phone and fax to extort money from him/her. There are many ways and methods and ways whereby these criminals carry out this act. They are:
Sending you an email claiming that you have a far relative who has left some funds in a security account.
Tracking down some desperate women/men via dating sites and convincing them that they have a meaningful relationship and duping them in the end out of funds.
Sending you an email claiming that you have won a lottery and duping you of funds.
Sending you emails about fictitious job offers and extorting funds all in the name of due process.
Buying your property on the internet with fake cashiers check, pay pal accounts and fake credit cards and etc.
There are many ways whereby these criminals perpetrate these atrocious acts and many claim that they are Nigerians. This is wrong. Nigerians are yes usually involved in these scams but the majority of these people come from highly developed IT countries and they all claim to be Nigerians so as to carry out their criminal acts undetected.
I for one have been scammed or rather was almost scammed by a fake university official claiming to grant me admission to a fake university complete with their website. I even received a phone call from this individual who claimed his name was "Nobert Young" and he spoke with a real American accent.
I will keep you updated and show you examples of Scam letters and documents that these fools (thats what I call them) use to trick unsuspecting victims in parting ways with hard earned money. I will also tell you how their mind works and the philosophy they have on their work.
Thank you hope you will get to learn and beware of Internet Scams in the future...
